Jenna has five years’ experience working as a Northeast Fisheries Observer Program Sector Liaison and as a Northeast Fisheries Observer Program Northeast Area Lead Assistant; in addition to 3 years of experience as a Northeast Fisheries Observer.
Jenna is responsible for: observer pre-briefs and post-briefs to enhance data quality to fishery management end users; outreach to commercial fishermen; producing daily compliance reports; ensuring observers are following proper sampling protocols through training and outreach; generating data reports for enforcement agencies, state and federal fishery agencies, management councils, and various end users; staying abreast of new regulatory developments within the Northeast fisheries and relay complex information to observers and trainees in manageable mediums; providing feedback to observers from industry to improve better communication and higher data quality; research, purchase, and maintain inventory of sampling and safety gear; coordinate all activities involved in safety training, including: creating agendas, protocol training, vessel tours, conflict resolution, workshops, and guest speakers; ensuring all required documentation for training is properly collected and archived.
